Re: Baby Blue Patina
should be lack there of. I guess the truck needed cab corners at some point and they didn't want to take the bed of or trim the new cab corner. I dont really know what Ill do about it, I think I will trim them a bit and weld it in like it should have been on the back side. I dont want to cut them completely out and mess up the patina.

Re: Baby Blue Patina
Looks like a killer start to another project. I'm looking forward to watching your build.
It never ceases to amaze me the repairs guys make on these trucks. That's actually mild compared to 1" thick bondo over rust I have seen. Keep the updates coming. Subscribed |

Re: Baby Blue Patina
oh there is plenty of bondo and chicken wire on the bed lol. luckily all in place that wont effect the patina but they still need to be addressed. I'm pretty excited about this one, its pretty nice not to have to worry about sanding bondo for once haha.

Re: Baby Blue Patina
yea Im still up in the air about what to do with them. I think I'm gonna cut them down to the straight part and weld them in up to where they did the bodywork. I will just have to see what Ive got when I get a little further

Re: Baby Blue Patina
No its not... and its really hard when the silver truck is probably 2 hours of body work and a coat of primer away from being ready to paint..... its gonna be worth it though when I get all the porterbuilt and air ride stuff in for it and have a fresh chassis to start with for that project

Re: Baby Blue Patina
worked on ole blue today for a bit today.I got the font end disassembled and the rest of the cab stripped.
I found some rifle shells in the cowl air so that gave me an idea that I think I'm gonna carry through the truck, I also like to use something that I find from the original truck in the in the final build. any way this is what I did. I made some bolts out of the shells and Im gonna use them somewhere on the truck, probably as a hole filler on the cowl panel where the windshield washer lines go through ![]() ![]() This is the cigarette lighter delete that I put a shotgun shell in, the truck has the knobs that don't have the stainless center so I think I'll put 2 other shells in the center of those. ![]()

Re: Baby Blue Patina
thanks. I think they will be a nice touch and will look better than the original cheaper knobs. as far as the shop goes I've been really lucky my Dad built that thing but now I think he is annoyed because all my junk is tying it up haha

Re: Baby Blue Patina
something that has been going through my mind here as of late is should I reuse the old bumpers, headlight buckets and grille trim or put new chrome bumpers and trim in it?
I have the chrome out of the silver truck and i'm not that happy with the bumpers on the silver one either so it looks like I will have extra. what do you guys think?

Re: Baby Blue Patina
I think that depends on what wheels you go with. If you're going to do something painted with caps I would leave the white but if you're going fancy I'd switch to chrome!

Re: Baby Blue Patina
I think I'm gonna go with the chrome and see what the torque thrust look like but I think I'm gonna end up running Wheel Vintiques 5 lug steel wheels with some nice dog dish hub caps
