Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
She's not into cars but she appreciates my truck. But my faucet's shut off as far as getting any other ones.

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
I met my wife when I was 19, she would beg me to take her for fast rides in my truck (it was more of a hot rod then).
Now its 27 years later, I am still driving my truck and have been married to my wife for 23 years...she steals my keys about once a week and drives my truck to work. And when I am out working on the truck for hours at a time, she brings me snacks and something to drink...so I would say she is pretty supportive of my truck hobby.

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
Mine actually surprised me with mine on my birthday after a few weeks went by where i couldn't stop talking about it. I know she regrets it because she tells everyone the reason she can no longer park in the garage is because it looks like a blazer threw up parts every where.

I have to let her buy shoes she likes.....and I have to buy rice in 50 pound bags.... and I have to let her have her strange looking and smelling sea food.... and I have to keep my weight down. (She is Asian and knows how to bargain)

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
My wife likes our trucks and cars ,she actually had a fit when I decided to sell my 55 Bel Air a while back. I mentioned the other day that I was going to sell my 72 Chevy 1 ton flatbed as I have had no time to play with it and she says no you cant ,I havent even been for a ride in it and its not for sale.

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
My honey isnt in to old cars and trucks at all. She doesnt care that they are my hobby as long as Im not one of those guys that parks a bunch of stuff all over the lawn lol.
At the house I keep every thing inside my small shop. Once in a while I need to keep something outside, but I really try to keep it to a few days at most. Honestly I dont like the look of hulks and projects sitting outside either, and I doubt my incredibly nice neighbors do either. Id like to keep em incredibly nice =)

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
"Ochre looks like burnt, rotten, baby poop." I disagree. I like the ochre/ white combo a lot. She can't seem to see the classic style in it. I will have to pick a new color for to be happy with MY vehicle. Maybe some sort of copper brown.

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
Well I found out years ago if your women has a hobbie like my wife they don't complain about yours. It been like that at my place for 30 years. I actually thinks she spend more time and money with her horses than I do with my vehicles. But she does appreciate the vehicle hobbie and all the time points vehicles out that I might like.
After I get home from work everyday about 4 pm I head to my shop and stay there piddling for several hours. Sometimes Michelle comes out to the shop and sees me sitting there watching Tv and drinking a beer she says looks like your working hard. But I save most of the weekends for her, well unless football is on or I want to work on the truck. Lol

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
"When are you gonna be done so I can drive it?"
We're in kind of an interesting scenario. We don't make enough to buy new cars, so we're gonna have vehicles that I'm gonna end up working on. And any cars made after about 1972 are a pain in the ass. We have my 70 k10, a 64 4 door chevy II, and now a 70 GMC Suburban. Eventually these will be our daily drivers. I would much rather work on them than my wifes stupid 01 Durango. I hate that thing, and it only gets 10mpg anyway so whats the point. |

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
my complains that I don't work on it enough. I like to procrastinate, but she wants me to buy buy buy new parts. If I had money to blow that would be fine, but I don't. I'll get there eventually and she'll be happier than me once it is drivable once more.

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
When I drug home the first one she was like "Um, Ohhh K , that's nice, honey."
After about the 4th or 5th one it was like "Uhhhh, you got ANOTHER one!?!" Now - after more than 30 - she'll text me pics if she sees one for sale. My secret? When I sell an old car or truck and make some money, I buy her something. It doesn't have to be something big or expensive. Sometimes I just take her out to eat somewhere nice. Sometimes I do get her something nice if I do good on one of the deals. It works great, and we both stay happy!

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
I once tried to give my 1981 FRANKENTRUCK stepside to her but she did not want it . BIG mistake on her part because I since put a 350 in it .

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
I haven't had mine long enough for her to say 1 way or the other, I just got home with it this evening. But she texted me when I got it loaded and she said yeah we don't have to look for 1 anymore. This is going to be a joint build hopefully with the both of us involved (probably her deciding what needs to be done next and me doing it) LOL

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
My wife knows the trucks are not getting any younger and its getting harder to find good ones, she will actually let me know if she see's something for sale.
But the comments can range from "Ohhhhh boy", meaning not another truck.... to "maybe you better get it while you can".

Re: Comments from your better half!!!!
Mine has been very supportive of my hobby. She's fine with whatever I want to do, as long as its still usable as a truck. She's not interested in cars herself but she understands that we both have our own hobbies.
