Headliner trim or not to trim?

The thing with magnets is you still have to use adhesive. So, you have two possible failures, magnet or glue. The 3M (super?) weatherstrip adhesive did the trick for sure on the few I've done. I can check out in the shop because I always keep that stuff around. It's the yellow goo like contact cement, not the clear. It's good in heat because weatherstip gets hot.

I did the extra strength velcro, made for outdoors on brick etc. Been there 10 day. So far so good

What I have out there now is Permatex Super Weatherstrip Adhesive. Pretty sure I used 3M years ago when I did it. But Permatex is good stuff. Spray adhesive goes on so thin and even, which is great in many cases. But you lay beads down and those are the first points of contact that get spread when you press on it. Spray adhesive you have to work fast. This stuff you are supposed to go slow, let it tack up first. It's important to press it flat. I think I used plywood on the ceiling with 2x4s to the floor overnight
