Digging deeper into the 348-409 forum I came up with a thread that was a few years old, but had a 63 k-20 with a 348.

Pictures aren't the best, but its the best I could do with what was posted.

Found another one for the archives. This one is a 62 and was found on ebay. Has a truck 348 in it backed by a t-10 transmission. Still has the 62 torsion bar frame.

Yeah, its definitely stout. Surprised the truck doesn't have a rake in the front end due to the weight of it.

Found a pretty cool pics from the GM engineers archives. Shows a room full of 348's and their parts from 1958. Check out the HD engine stands that rotate.

I was told this engine was around
Turns out it has been 150 yrds from my pillow
for the last 35 yrs
.
had to see
was told it is unatainable 1962 409ci(check out the manifold)
.
Two people in the world know were this engine sits
one is a chevy guy the other a Ford guy..I can wait........

I followed some of the talk on this engine on the 348-409 forum....they are a tough crowd.

Meant to add this pic to the thread. Almost done with the mock up on the block. I want to slide it back 1" from the forward holes on the frame....same as I did with the big block in the step side. Alternator mount fab complete and I found a stock 64 v8 shroud that fits nicely over the engine. Clearance is a little close on the belt, but that will resolve when I set the engine back.

What a cool truck. That could be so much fun. I was curious if it was really a T10 or am SM420. It appears to be a side shifter, and the transmission seems to be aluminum, but it appears they inverted the shift arms as the pattern is backwards. I’m kind of surprised how wimpy it sounds. To go to all the trouble of building a W block engine and passenger car 4 speed, I expected it to sound more muscular! Still, that is a beautiful truck and probably couldn’t be replicated for the same amount of money.

Looks to be the truck 409.....thanks for the addition Jon!!!!!

And an 80 series truck is pretty rare. I see a lot of the 10-50 series, but not much after that. With the air brakes I'd guess it was a nice cluster in the dash also.
