Re: Will oil pan on truck motor be to low on lowered truck
ctsv and ls1 fbody pans are your best bet if super low or bagged. i have an fbody setup coming in monday so i can finally bolt my motor in. only thing is people want blood for used fbody pans. -_____- you can buy it new for $200 online (new gasket and bolts) and people want 200 for just a used pan by itself! gtfoh. got mine for 175 shipped and that has a new gasket and lokar dipstick
but im using cpp sheetmetal stands, poly mounts, and sliders......the truck pan hangs about 1-1.5" below the xmember |

To be fair, they designed their mounts so that you could use the stock A/C compressor in the factory location.

Re: Will oil pan on truck motor be to low on lowered truck
What's a good oil pan for a basic work truck? I'd rather not have it hang way down... but more oil capacity is better. It might end up 4WD eventually.

Went with the Cadillac pan($125 ebay) and ebay slider mounts, dropped 5.5 in the front plenty of clearance. My buddy also used Cadillac pan with ece mounts his sits even higher.

Re: Will oil pan on truck motor be to low on lowered truck
I'd like to see a comparison of the CTSV pan vs the F-body pan...
Sounds to me like the LH8 hot rod pan still hangs down pretty low for a dropped truck. And, if I understand correctly, the F-body pan hits the crossmember if your motor is too far forward.? Does the CTSV pan correct that and how much oil does it hold.?

Re: Will oil pan on truck motor be to low on lowered truck
Hi kitsbeach, i used the f body pan, used the organ donor 2001 mounts, and made my own perches. I can barely sneak my little pinky between the front of the pan and the crossmember. The f body pan is the thinnest up front and my pan sump is about 3/4 inch above the lowest part of the crossmember so it's protected. When i mocked up my swap years ago i wanted to try and use the stock fanclutch/ 68 fan shroud/ 2001 hd radiator and it all worked out. This way i can source stock parts if needing replacement. My little pinky can't fit between the tips of the fan blade and the inside of the fan shroud but they never rub.
