But sometimes you don't get what you want. But he see a opportunity here.

It would be a cool build though 9ft. 4x4

That's my kind of kid! I'd take a k/20 over a big block short fleet any day of the week. That's the beauty of these trucks they have a way of appealing to all tastes. A 4x4 9ft step would be unique id love to watch that one take shape!

he doest come on too much but he ususally lurks.

the 67 swb bb stepper is my project for my younger son. i dont have a build thread i'm terrible with pics while working but here is one of them together.
the body of mine was just sprayed in primer two weeks ago
i was doing the body work most summer and had alot of bare metal so it got sprayed to protect it this winter. i dont have good heat in the garage so body work will continue in the spring.

Re: saving these from the crusher

It's nice to see the C-30 stepsides making a resurgence lately. The stepper has a 133" wheelbase and the K-20 has a 127". You could marry the two, but it would take some work to relocate bed mounting brackets and rear end. If you sell the stepper, give us board members a try at her first.

Thanks
i'll keep you in mind when i start tearing into it.

jimer there is a bunch of them within 1/2hr. drive from me easypull,a-z u pull it,
chicken man, ackeys, and a newer one called grebles. there is a few more but i cant give up all my hidey holes. one of them has a set of tow hooks i've been negelcting to get cause they are slightly welded on.
hofferts was the one right down the road i could cry that it closed up.most of us couldve wandered in there for days.

i would take you up on that tank but the one i'm after is only 15 min away much closer than you.
i may hit you up for other stuff when i'm(my wallet)is ready.

it was miserable out yesterday but i did pull the caps off the 9ftr. knocked some dents out of'm and gave them a clr bath.

the bed sides i bought for my 67 step didnt have tail/rev light bracket holes so i layed'm out and started mounting.

Re: saving these from the crusher

when i got my latest 70 i pulled the pass side door handle off and got a key cut from the code numbers for 5 bucks...r/s usually sees less use and more likely to be original

Yhea I could gone that route but it's a lil late now.
The kid drilled out the ignition this morning and we got the other one in.
Excited to hear it turn over I hooked a batt up
And told him too turn the key.....absolutely nothing...hmm
Quick look around and my dumas didn't connect the bulkhead. Plugged it in tightened it up...try it again it cranked..dumped a lil gas in the carb and it fired rite up.
I didn't have any more gas(used the bottom of the mower can)"yuck" But I'm out now I'll get some and see if the fuel pump works. It seems to me that it may be the problem with this one.the way the tank looks for one.
And they have a long hose on the fuel pump inlet and the line disconnected from the carb. I also found a cheap electric pump in the cab.
Like someone was gonna hook it up.

I have a set of keyed door locks somewhere in my stash.

Here's a pic of the cleaned up caps. Also replaced both door handles on the stepper both buttons were pushed in. The the kid broke the ds window reg(handle spinnig freely)i have a few laying around but HE is gonna fix it.
