Your all a bunch of enablers!! Ha i browse wheels from time to time and was thinking of pulling the trigger. I also have drop spindles up front and 3” drop springs in the rear.

My favorite wheels ive found are

US Mags u125 or 126 chrome or gunmetal
https://www.jegs.com/p/MHT/US-Mags-Boulevard-U126-Chrome-Finish-Wheels/6836244/10002/-1

Coys C629 in either chrome or gun metal

https://www.coyswheel.com/coys-c-629-gunmetal

Us wheel rat rod max size in 6 lug is 17 but my favorie smoothie option

Or a set of smoothies from detroit steel or coys has a lighter weight aluminum smoothie.

Those are my favorite 6 lug options. Pricey, but if your already forking out the money, a few more bucks really isnt that huge given its a one and done. IMO

Jegs just had 50 off 500, im waiting to see if anyone has any black friday deals. Kills me because 5 lug options are endless and you can get wheel and tire packages 14-1700 all day.

Re: Summit 6 lug vision wheels and tire size

May plan is to try and stick with an "enhanced stock" approach with this truck, upgrading to newer more capable tech (disc brakes, larger wheels, electronics) while retaining as much stock look as I can. So, I have been leaning towards Jegs 17" rally style wheels for 6 lug:

https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/681241/10002/-1

I can put wider tires on, but still have some "meat" in the sidewall, and don't have to bite the whole bullet and do disc brake conversion AND new wheels and tires. When I do disc brake conversion, I'll simply do the 6-lug variant.

So, I am trying to figure out backspacing, offset, fitment, etc. And to make it more challenging, it appears the PO had the stock 15" wheels banded to make them wider. So, cannot based any measurements or visualizer tools on the dimensions of a stock 15" wheel. About to take one of them off and have the local tire shop measure it and tell me the exact specs.

Re: Summit 6 lug vision wheels and tire size

I run 17x8 6 lug summit legend gunmetal wheels on my 67 4wd. The hole in mine was 3.25". I know on mine as my front hubs are 3.5". I do run an 88 GM 10 bolt front axle from a full size blazer - same as a Dana 44. . 3.25" should be ok for a 2wd - but not a 6 lug solid axle.

Just info.

The hub pilot is the same for the 2x4 and the 4x4 trucks. I ran my Jimmy 4x4 stock 6 lug rims on my 69 short step before I converted it to 5 lug. And they had the same hub diameter.

Re: Summit 6 lug vision wheels and tire size

its good to see a few options for the 6 lug. I stayed on my 6 lug for years. I do sometimes wish I had swapped over maybe someday as I know the wheel options are much greater.

Re: Summit 6 lug vision wheels and tire size

When I built my 36 Chevy street rod I wanted the biggest tire that I could fit in the rear. I ended up building a fixture out of wood and cardboard. You can buy a fancy one but for a one shot deal it was not worth it to me. I got the specs on different tires, section width, tread width and diameter. I then set my high tech tool and rotated in the wheel well. I cut the card board to match the profiles and secured the wood arm to the drum to set diameter. A few things to mind in mind is to check inside due to fact that body lean in a corner will bring tire closer than in a static position also weight in the bed, hitting bump, pothole or while steering wheel is max left or right. With all that said there is more clearance on truck than in most cars.
