Re: LED Headlight Conversion
It sounds to me like what you really need is an alternator upgrade and a relay setup for your headlights.

Re: LED Headlight Conversion
How about just putting relays and pull the power off the battery and not through the switch?

Check these out for a budget friendly LED swap. They are what I run and they easily keep up with the $600 sets for $150. Highly discounted due to being an old generation of them. Posted via Mobile Device |

I didn’t check to see if there were chrome left, not sure how the black would look. I have them on mine with no anti flicker and they’re just fine. I don’t see a need for the anti flicker harness. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: LED Headlight Conversion
Not sure if it matters to most, but the Morimotos' aren't DOT.

The Morimoto's are stamped DOT SAE, so I believe they are DOT legal.

Re: LED Headlight Conversion
I only mentioned it because I didn't see anything about DOT on the spec page, nor could I see it on the lenses in the picture. If yours actually have that stamped, then they probably are.

Re: LED Headlight Conversion
Well I went with the MORIMOTO's. I'm not sure when they will get here but looking forward to trying them out. Do you guys use the DRL feature or just leave it unhooked?

Are you guys simply trimming the bucket for fitment? Also, anyone have a recommendation for the hookup point for the tan wire, which I assume is either a DRL or turn signal feature? |

Re: LED Headlight Conversion
Good battery, 105 amp alternator and a United Pacific relay set up with halogen headlights work great and brite

Re: LED Headlight Conversion
UPDATE:
I cut the factory buckets to let the Morimotos sit down far enough to screw down the retaining ring. Glad I have spares. |
