Man, I'd love to see one of our trucks smoke a 'Vette. Hey Jim, how about posting some videos of your truck sometime? [/B][/QUOTE]
my ole man always tells me about the day he did it, said it was back in 74 or 75 maybe, a fella intown just got a new vette from the dealership , the ole man had a 3/4 ton long bed with a solid lifter 396,, kinda like what you guys are talkin about , they were only gonna run for 2 poles because the guy didnt want to stretch the vette,,, yeah that 3/4 ton with 4:56's had him out of the hole everytime ,,, and by th time the vette quit spinnging dad was already at the end |

you need to know my old man is also the same guy who use to race cars on horseback and win,, yeah hed get these kids from in town in theyre cars and trucks back in the early 70's and he raised extremely fast cutting horses, he would race them for a 50 dollar bill for one telephone pole, what these kids never thought about is it is gonna take a few seconds for theyre ride to hit 30 , those horses were doin it the very first step,

i always loved hot rod lincoln ,, love all those ole rod songs,, lil gto , shutdown , never heard one of a rambler tho ,, ha ha ha,, never quite pictured one as a muscle car, the fastest car he ever owned was a 64 elcamino that had been run on the strip , bought it somewhere around a salvage yard, had a blown hemi, the road out in front of his house was a big hill and at the bottom was a bridge, , he would have someone stand at the top of the hil and would wind it up on the bridge and cut it loose to try and hit 80 by the time he reached the top of the hill, finally about 5 grand one day on the bridge sent chunks of the rods into the wood planks,

I agree with you catfuzz...The Vette's are overrated...But I still want one. I test drove one last summer, thought about it, thought about my wife not liking it and ended up buying a new Silverado. I bet the payments, insurance and upkeep would be rediculous on a new Vette .....Hey a guy can still dream.
