Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
I guess I need to send some of my trucks up to you and then maybe something would get done on them........ Great work.
EDIT: How good is your tuner guy with superchargers?

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
the tire sizes are
front- 255-35-20 rear- 265-35-22 no the goodyear tires were'nt the least expensive, i think the hankock tires were, the goodyears will ride better and also the thread pattern is real neat and unique.....plus the hankock tires were on backorder too |

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
Subscribed... this is going to be one sweet project!
I might have missed it, but what color are you going with? And not to take away from your build, but I know several board members that would love to see your '68 and maybe this truck when you're done. Consider trying to make it to the Midwest All Truck Nat's in Riverside, MO. It's the best truck show in our area, and last year they had 350+ participants. Keep up with the progress, this thing is flying together!

Don - Will those headers and engine mounts work for an 85 too? I would think that they would. I'll be starting my Gen III swap in my 85 in a few months. I may be calling/PM'ing you for info! Killer was such a clean install, I'll be anxiously following this one.

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
ok i finally got another camara (old one broke) so here is where im at with big red.... the firewall was rusted alot more then i thought, so i cut out a nice chunk and replaced it with new metal....also the side piece was rusted too, and'fixed' with bondo , so i cut out the bad area, and replaced it with fresh metal... when i was in there i coated everything with rust inhibitor..

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
switched from the rust repair to the suspension, i ran 3/8 hardlines from my valves to the bags...i used bulkhead fittings to go through the front crossmember, kinda under the engine perch, to connect the front bags... same with the valves, i used a 't' bulkhead fitting to connect the valves to the tank through a rear xmember... also im gonna move the location of the tank (mounted under the bed infront of the rear tire, on the ouside frame rail) im gonna move it to under the bed, where the spare tire would go, simply because it would save me time with the line to connect the tank with the valves, and also it will make it easier to maintance should something go wrong with the system....
