Re: Slot lovers unite!

I have a set (2) of 15 x 7, 5 lug pattern slots. Here is a link to a WIW: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=364889

It would be nice to get some input, as I want to sell these down the road when I get my truck ready to roll.

Re: Slot lovers unite!

Hey Rene! Oh magawd, all those trucks are like soooo dated. And it`s like that`s why they are so hip and all awesome and stuff. Right?
I call it era correct... better known as stone solid classic good looks.

Slots did wonders for an old Camper hauler. I do know dat:

They look good near the Colorado/New Mexico line...

They look good on Edisto Island,SC...

They look good in PA Dutch country...

They looked good dirty on the Ocracoke Island ferry in NC...

They looked pretty good on my shortbed in the grocery store lot in Page,AZ...

These are all older pictures from 20 or more years ago and they`d look just as good today. You can`t 'date" timeless.

Special K that edisto Island pic looks like it came from a vintage brochure promoting state parks. I love it. Timeless is right. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Re: Slot lovers unite!

I had a new pair of 17x8 ansens slots and couldnt find any 17s or 15s so i got pissed and sent them back. Oh they let me order them but it went on for months as ''backordered''.. i did a lot of checking and found out that they had sold American Racing to another Co. and were out of production .

all I have now is a single 15x7 for a spare.

I'll always be on the lookout for some nice new ones but will take a nice older set too. 15x7 and 15x8

Re: Slot lovers unite!

Well, I finally found a set. Actually it was via Ebay but the seller was local. Went out to his place tonight and man, I was in slot mag heaven. At one point he had over 200 wheels. All different sizes, widths, brands, etc. He said that 5 on 5 are the hardest lug pattern to buy and this is the first time in 10 years he has started selling his 5 on 5 patterns.

He had three different sets, two full sets of 15x8.5 and one set of 15x7/15x8.5 combo.

Well, the mixed width set came home with me. I was thinking the same size all around but I had issues with 8.5 width rubbing on my last truck. I decided to play it safe and use 15x7 for the front.

I am so stoked!!!

I have read good things about this guy but I always hate when prices are listed and you have to contact them. Makes me feel like the price will be different depending on his mood that day.

Thanks for the link, that is exactly what I'm looking for! My Jimmy has the front end sitting wider than the rear and if I use 8.5's on the front and 10's on the rear it should level the width problem out. Gotta check the BS, 3 1/2" are what these are listed at

Wierd how the center hole is so much bigger then needed to be. It's like 4 1/4" and you only need 3 3/4"

Cool, hope they work for ya. The guy seemed REALLY cool to deal with and I would buy from him again without question.

As for the center hole, many different 4x4 axles have been used, that use the 6 on 5.5 pattern. Not all of them use the same size center hole because of different parts used in the hub assembly. It was easier to make one size bore, the largest needed by any axle and all the other ones would work. It is not like they are using the bore for hub centric use. They are lug centric so the bore can be bigger. Hope that made sense.

Also, if the BS might not be correct on that set, contact him as I know he has a bunch of other ones not listed yet.

Hey, Chevy Mike...thanks for linking me to this guy. Just traded my 10" wheels for the set on Ebay! This board rocks for info. that is unobtainable, would never have been able to make a deal without it. Thanks guys
