I have never seen anyone do that much work to a door. Doors always take the most work on any project on any vehicle. But you took that to new heights

Here are a couple more with the new roof skin on, welded up the rear seam. Also installed a new inner cowl panel from S. KY Classics, made a filler piece for the passenger side firewall and capped off the wire channel to smooth things out.

A few more pictures of the cowl and some of the dash. Finally got it painted and installed back in cab! I had to brush on some epoxy primer behind the dash because my compressor wasn't working, put it on way too thick and it ran everywhere. Not a big deal as I will sand it and spray the whole cab here soon. I also got the drivers side rocker and cab corner done when I hung the door. I have to get those pics off my phone but I will post them as soon as I do.

Went I went to hang the door this is what I ran into. Even without the rocker on the door wouldn't close all the way because it was hitting the front floor pan. Decided to cut away the inner rocker, hang the new outer rocker and then tack the inner rocker back in place where it needed to be. Once that was done I filled in the gap with metal, sprayed some weld through primer and a coat of body wax and welded on the rocker. This part was a lot of work and pretty frustrating but I am happy with the end result.

Sorry for the crappy pics and not being in order...Ran into some trouble with the cab corner too, This is the second one I bought and it wasn't right either. Had to cut it down the middle and reshape it. Got it all smoothed out and the door fits great. The picture of the door pieces is where I am at with my passenger side door as of this morning

Everyone keeps saying how crappy aftermarket doors are and I am too lazy to go look for good originals believe it or not

Thats a pretty common problem when using the floor pans and the rear outer floor section with the inner rocker attached. They also don't always reach the rocker correct. They corrected this when they made the one piece outer floor extension which is a much better fitting product.

Your cab is looking amazing compared to what you started with. I cant wait to see the truck finished ,what color are you planning ? Wish I had your talent and skills as a metal master .

Thanks man, not sure on the color yet. Might stick with the original orange but I've always loved black too. I have plenty of work ahead of me before I have to make that decision

Here are a few more pics of what I started with. Got the truck running for free from my dad last May. Day after I got it home I had it completely stripped down. Its been a long hard year of rust repair but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I've learned a lot and feel as though I can tackle anything now as far as rust goes...Hopefully these will motivate someone out there to tackle their own rust repair, take it one small piece at a time and before you know it you'll be expert

Just when I thought to myself (literally today) eff this mother effing truck and its effing rust, I come across your post. I bought my truck 7 months ago and have been in limbo teetering on getting rid of it but cant bring myself to do it. It has been my dream truck since i was a teen.

Don't give up on it man! Of course it takes the right tools and some skills but it can be done. Its best to take it one small area at a time and move your way around the truck until your done. In your case a complete donor roof might be the right choice if you have the skills to do a swap like that (wouldn't be any harder than tackling it section by section IMO) Of course what you have can be fixed too, just remember its only metal

Learn as much as you can from this forum too, anything you want to know can be found here with a few searches, learn from other peoples mistakes and you'll be way ahead from the start. Good luck!

For now I have to focus on getting the engine and drive train ready for a drive to Texas next year once my time is up in the navy. If everything goes to plan I will be working for a welders union so a little rust repair shouldn't be a problem lol. Nice work man, thanks for the encouragement.
