Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..

To me I don't care if swb owners talk down cause I have a lwb. Whatever entertains them I guess. I love my 67 with a passion. I don't know if I will ever use it to its full capacity. Ima still keep on wrenchin at it. Its not to show off but to those who appreciate a good ol american pickup.

Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..

Oh can I add something esle? okay i will. I see that alot of people dislike longbed stepsides. They have really grown on me especially one from 67-72. I would love to have one of them to just something about them is so cool. Different and that link about the stepside longbeds being "only if you want to win an ugly truck award" haaaa. I would be proud of that award. Never had an award.

Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..

I appreciate all the different truck configurations I see here on the board. I admire the craftsmanship that goes into the nice restorations and custom fab work many perform on their trucks too. I respect those that use their trucks as daily drivers and I envy the ones who can keep 'em in service as work vehicles. I understand the sentimentality many owners have with their trucks and the determination of those that bring back to life what many would see as rusted-out junk. I love these trucks, yet I understand that they are still just trucks that were built to get us from point A to point B, sometimes in style, and sometimes with a heavy load. The one thing I can't stand is when people do things just out of pure stupidity or bad taste. If you weld half of a '57 Chevy car on a '69 C/10 just to be "different" or glue McDonalds toys all over it, then I might think you aren't exactly a mental giant. Besides that pet peeve, I like them all, from C-10s to C-70s!

Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..

I have no issues with a stock height LWB C20 and if the owner loves it then all the better. To call out those that own C10 SWB stepside that has been lowered, that is less than a truck kind of miffs me. I have a friend who thinks that SWB trucks look funny and perfers a LWB truck......goes to show "different strokes for different folks". By the logic of a lowered SWB stepside is less of a truck, then a C20 is a REAL truck and a C10 is an imposter. The C20 can haul more than a C10....right? Better never use an El Camino to haul anything bigger than a roll of toliet paper...huh? Where does that put a C30 or a 3500? Can a truck be modified so far that it is not useful as a truck.....oh he** yeah, at the GMC dealer I worked at we had plenty of slammed 3500 dually crew cab. In my opinion that slammed (way more than lowered) 3500 dually crew cab has become a big block 4 door car without a trunk lid, but the guy who owned it loved and guess what it isn't my truck.

I love to see a Stock C20, a LWB C10, or a lowered C10 SWB. If it gets what you want done then it is a truck IMHO.

Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..

I am with you brother. I usualy keep my mouth shut and not comment on threads about bagged, lowered and very custom trucks. to me it like taking the wings off a classic air plane. All I can think is, man, their WAS a nice truck..ugh. but, to each their own.

There are many of us who think these trucks are best the way they came from the factory.

Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..

I disagree its not about what you have or what you drive to be noticed or out there with everyone else. If you do not discuss things on forums then you wont ever be noticed, Plain and simple as that. I am a fan of each and everyone of the trucks on here and everyones taste. Its nice to see what others have done to these trucks and what they prefer, no matter what year they maybe. I enjoy reading each forum post and Builds each night after work and I am sure many others do the same on here when they are able too. Just know that each and everyone of us on these forums have our own opinions on everything. ( Likes and Dislikes ) I just know I love these trucks!
