You're buiding an awesome truck! I'm going to keep up with this build. It looks as if you've done a great job so far!

Re: 71 Cheyenne in Chandler
Latest update, I drove it to Tucson for Super Chevy last weekend, about 120 miles each way. I ran it on the 1/4 mile twice and it went 14.39 with my 20's on it and the scale said 3920 with me in it. I think that's prety good for basicly a stock LS1 with headers and a CAI and no tuning to the computer. I had to back off the throttle to let it shift and I had to baby it off the line.
I did not even take any tools with me... It cruised 75 at 1900 RPM and was a lot of fun!! I also ran into the guy I bought the truck from and he liked it very much.

Re: 71 Cheyenne in Chandler
Too cool! I am not a yellow guy except the darker Vette Canary yellows, but my brother had a butternut yellow 67 chevelle many years ago. I am building a 67 in his memory and will more than likely use the butternut yellow color as it'll be "his car". Looks sweet and glad to hear the LS1 works good for ya!

Re: 71 Cheyenne in Chandler
This is the product we used, the paint store gave us a small can of the same pigment used in the regular paint. It really looks great up close.

Re: 71 Cheyenne in Chandler
It seems to be very tough but I don't plan on loading a lot of heavy or sharp stuff in the bad, I do plan on coating my 2008 bed with it later this year.

Re: 71 Cheyenne in Chandler
I will have trim on it eventually, I just have to buy it. It's a real Cheyenne so with the two tone paint it must have trim. IMHO.

Saturday we were at the Sonic at Higley and Germann they do it once a month. I'd really like to meet up and hit a show. I'll post a meet in a couple of weeks and see what we can do. I need to print out the web address for this site, I've met some really nice guys with Chevy trucks that do not know about the site. I always ask "are you on the site?" Like everyone should know which site I'm talking about...

Re: 71 Cheyenne in Chandler
Thought I would update a little, it's been a long time and this thing has been on the back burner for 3 years now. BUT, I started working on it again and should have it complete within the next month. Here are a couple of pictures.

Re: 71 Cheyenne in Chandler
Gorgeous truck! BTW I understood that you used a water jet to cut out the gauge cluster but, did you buy a blank to cut the new design in or how did you do it?

Re: 71 Cheyenne in Chandler
Love your truck. I dig that you did the LS1 swap 4 years ago. Now they are very popular to swap. I did a 04 chevy truck 4.8l and made it into a LS1 with the intake. Love the look. I discovered that higley and germann car show about 5 months ago and have been plannin on going. My truck is being painted right now so I hope I can make the good guys pavillions weekend because alot of the AZ c10's are trying to get together that weekend since we cant go to good guys with the square bodies. Check out this thread if you havent already. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=447974
