This is a photo of our 1944 2N Ferd tractor, it's no show piece and is used by my wife to plow her large gardens. She found a nice Dearborn 2 bottom plow set up to use on it.I rebuilt the engine 5 years ago but other than that, the tractor is pretty original. This is orchard country by lake Ontario and many old N tractor are still used daily by orchard farmers.
I don't know too much about old tractors so my brother in law suggested a old N tractor when I was looking to buy one. He pointed out the advantages of a 3 point hitch on the old N tractors which makes them still usuable for light farm work even today

I'm looking for a bantam garden tractor to restore, have any leads, or know what I should be looking for, or what I should expect to pay for a decent builder ?

the next full size tractor thats going to be restored is a case la,
my cousin owns it, and started messin with it a little last year.
its really neat looking with those stylish rear fenders.

I've got a book somewhere with pictures of flathead ford engines in 8n or 9n tractors.I got the impression that this might have been a pretty common conversion durin the era.

I wonder what he did to get that v8 chevy in that allis? That would be a neat project. If I remember right, you could put several engines in the N series ford. The 4,6,v8 and I think even a straight 8.The problem was the back end of the tractor couldn't handle the extra power while adding extra work loads.(i.e. more blades on the plow)
