Unhappy

My collection consists of a 1958 Massey-Harris Pony, original, rusty and runs great. I keep it for yard work and snow plowing.

He also sells decals he is the one who I bought my decals from for my olivers,I have only talk to him on the phone, but I could just tell from talking to him that he was a very nice man,I saw allot of the tractors on an oliver site that he auctioned off,if I were just closer and had the time I would have liked to have been there.

I have a 1952 Ford 8N that i use quite often around my place to brush hog and do other various work. It has OK paint on it, it is more of a work tractor than any kind of showpiece. The great thing is that i can leave it sitting in my barn over the winter, then go push the starter button 4 months later and she fires right to life . It could use a little more horses than the massive 21 h.p. that is currently under the hood, but hey, it runs good .

I am no ford car or truck fan,but you can't beat a ford tractor, they are the most least maintance tractor you could ever own,my dad bought our ford tractors new and besides changing the fluids and a battery or two,I have never done anything to them and they are perfect,I wish chevrolet would have made a tractor,I just wonder what it would have looked like,Brad.

I have a '48 H Farmall tractor that my grandfather bought new in '49 along with the John Deer mower he bought with it. Grandpa passed away last year and I ended up with the tractor this fall. It was in the machine shed and hasn't been fired for atleast 10 years. I gave it fresh fluids, new battery, coil, filed the points and she fired right up. It runs like a sewing machine, it's smooth, no clatter or smoke and plenty of oil pressure. I need to replace the rear tires and tubes, then she'll be ready for work. The front tires are still good and hold air. My goals are to sand blast the frame, wheels and repaint everything. It is currently stored for the winter, but will come out of hibernation soon. The body is very straight, not a dent in it or any rust through since it's been covered since the day it rolled off the show room floor. I am very proud to own this piece of history and hope to have it ready for work and some local parades this summer.

I have a 52 IH Farmall M diesel. Runs, but needs work. Has been in a shed for the last ten years. Usually start it up once or twice a year to cut grass. Has a John Deere mower mounted on it. Would be a great restoration project. Anyone know if you can get restoration parts for these old tractors?

I believe GM did make a tractor, called the Samson, but not in any great quantities and really early in the century.

As for tractors at my house, we have just acquired our fourth Cub Cadet riding lawnmower. My dad is just nuts about them, we even bought a brand new one but had to sell to make quick cash.
He's gotten 2 of the 4 for free, one for $50 (thats the nice one we use to mow the yard) and one for rebuilding a Ford 8N tractor engine (also got a Honda Trail 90 motorcycle for that). We restored a John Deere that came with our house when I was young, it was fun, but we had to sell it for quick cash, again. He also has a few stationary engines sittin around, but I don't know what kind they are.

I love old tractors......my Uncle instilled it in me I guess. I'm currently saving the money to rebuild the engine in my 36 Allis Chalmers WC that my great grandad bought new. It's in an old garage here on the homestead and has never left the place......I've still got the original steel wheels for it, but it's on rubber now. I've also got a Super C Farmall ( Mower tractor) and a 930 Case wheatland diesel (loader tractor). Dad's got a D-17 Allis that I'll probably inherit someday..........My Uncle had a "G" Allis......neat little tractor......too bad it sold on the estate sale......they wouldn't let me keep it.

I have 3 old *ord tractors. Not sure if I should type the whole F word on this group. I have 2 1948 8N's one is used for mowing and one is used to scoop the snow, and 1 2N for odd jobs. They were all done up about 10 years ago and are probably due for a new coat of paint again. Best little tractor ever made. They run forever on a tank of gas and can still be bought for less than some of the new riding mowers. Love mine

My Cousin is the Ag teacher here in town, and his student just restored this one, and a JD H, thought ya'll might enjoy a photo, I'm glad that some schools still have a tractor mech class, the kids also built the trailor that its on.

Also if anyone has a lead, I'm looking for a bantam garden tractor, to restore for myself.
