Great story. I believe I had the same trailer brake on my old truck or at least one that looked like it.

Nice truck! I wish I had been with Chad (CC69Rat) when he went up. Great story, and if I can help with info or parts just let me know. I'm just down the road.

Oh, Garold Lewis told me to tell you and your Dad hello.

Re: Lookie what I found ..

Thanks for sharing your story!

I have my Grandfathers truck, he "sold" it to me when I turned 16 in 1983. If I had a dollar for every time I answered no to the question "is it for sale?" I would have enough to put A/C on it.

You and I are blessed that we have this link back to our Grandfathers that stirs our memory of them every time we get behind the wheel.

Re: Lookie what I found ..

Brandon, would you mind if maybe one Sat I bring Dad by and let him take a look at it? Dad is a.k.a. 'No Neck' ^^ above. He loves these old trucks too. The day I came by I just gritted my teeth and hoped for the best.. I wish he could have seen it too.

Re: Lookie what I found ..

I suddenly developed allergies too!!!!

Id get that barn reinforced or part the truck elsewhere. With my luck that barn would have smushed my truck like a pancake by now.

Re: Lookie what I found ..

Oh, you guys don't know the half of it. That barn survived an F4 tornado that hit us 4/27/12. It was insane the damage around this area. In fact there is damage to the roof of the very barn its sitting in.

Don't even say 'smoosh'.. <shiver> ..

If we didn't remodel our old barn and I drove my truck in there I'd be screwed

Yep, CC is right. a tornado swept thru last year that did its best to that old barn. Took out a shed, blew out the opposite end loft wall, flipped part of the roof & rafters over on top of it's self & racked the barn pretty bad.

My truck is sitting in the most solid part of the barn that never budged. Uprights are 8x8 & everything else around it is rough cut 2x lumber, solid oak (more like 2.5 thick)!

Here's some before & after of the barn
