Re: 55 project thread
What type of link are you going to use? triangulated or 4 link with panhard? Coil spring or shock wave/bags? I'm looking into this for mine as well so post pics....

Re: 55 project thread
Here are some newer pictures, I finally decided I want to turn the motor on so I went and spent some money and have it almost to the point where I just need juices *oil, tranny fluid, antifreeze, fuel.* I also need to fit the new spark plug wires I bought and tighten up all the sheetmetal.

Re: 55 project thread
I thought they came out of a Honda. They are like mine. I'm planing on going without the head rest on mine. How the mounting going? What type of modification have you had to do to mount them? I think I'm going to have to use square tubing to mount them.

Re: 55 project thread
the front mounts are angled so I bent them down to be 90 degrees stacked 2 pieces of square tube and bolted through the raised original mount part of the floor. Getting them where I wanted height wise was getting pretty annoying finally I stumbled on an old bed cross sill I had and it was just right. Ill take a couple pictures if you want. The head rests get in the way and personally when I sit down in a car I dont use head rests because im to busy keeping my eyes on the road. I am going to try and get the motor finished and do the motor break-in sometime during the next week or two.

Re: 55 project thread
I went through the truck today checking all the bolts and fittings to see if they were tightened etc. All I need for the engine is a radiator hose so im gonna run down to pepboys tomorow, grab one, and possibly start the truck.

Re: 55 project thread

Re: 55 project thread
id say the door fit 100x better than the damn fenders haha. So to answer your question the repro doors are really good just make sure you inspect them before you leave the showroom. I had to have them get a diff door because the first one they brought out had a big dent in it *OOPS* on their part.
