Re: 55 project thread
Were did you get the fuel cell from? Was it made for our years of truck? How many gallons is it? It looks like a perfect fit.

Re: 55 project thread
I got it from the local speed shop called J and M speed center, Gave my buddy steve the dimensions and he found the closest, largest tank that would fit the dimensions. We ended up going with a little bit bigger of a tank which forced me to notch that rear bar the one furthest back.
its a 17 gallon, and only cost 120 vs. the 400-500 for an all aluminum and that included the sending unit, foam baffling, cap, and mounting brackets. The plastic doesnt crack or break like an aluminum would either, it will just conform. Last edited by 55ChevyPU; 02-18-2006 at 02:24 PM. |

Re: 55 project thread
It looks like your booster is on the ground and has the vacum port you asked about. Is that the same booster?
Looks like a couple of nice bike hanging above! Do or did you race? Last edited by CAL 58 GMC; 02-21-2006 at 02:22 AM. |

SWEET! I'm working on my '59. I took off the bed, gas tank, and seat. The fenders are next.

Re: 55 project thread
My son used to race ABA. He started when he was six and raced off and on until he was 14, he 23 now. I miss going to the races and watching him, I'm sure you Dad knows what I'm talking about.

Re: 55 project thread
got a new manifold yesterday
and here is a picture of the pretty lights I bought 2 new headlights and left one of the older in there to see the difference the passenger is a new light and the drivers is an older light I had before the project started, you can really see how much brighter the new light is.
