Sorry to say, but I probably will. I don't really want to, but realisticly I probably will never put a original style radio in it.

Re: My Highschool Project truck a 1969 GMC C20 (Old Blue)
MM...thats a tricky one. I like the look of factory radio. But would never put one in it. The way to go is a mp3 player/remote or something. Where ya gonna put speakers or did you already address that?

Re: My Highschool Project truck a 1969 GMC C20 (Old Blue)
Thats my exact thoughts on it! I don't remember if I said that on this thread. I'm thinking of doing what i think it was 292farmer's P.O. did, make a 90* mount under the seat, propably going to put some in the doors, and possibly a console eventually.

Re: My Highschool Project truck a 1969 GMC C20 (Old Blue)
i plan on putting the original in and one speaker in center dash for it so it looks correct, then getting a cd/mp3 and making a mount and installing it in glovebox or under seat and get a remote 4 it and add some more speakers, i dont change the station or cd much so having it out of easy reach 4 me is no big deal for some this idea wont work.

Re: My Highschool Project truck a 1969 GMC C20 (Old Blue)
I don't think that will work for me because I do change stations a lot. I'm not too worried about stock apearences. Right now I have a pair of 4x9s or 6x9s. Cant remember which. Not really sure where to mount them at this point. Thinking about the doors but they need to be replaced. If it would stop SNOWING for a little while I would just do a cab swap and get it over with, but doesnt loook like thats going to work out.

Re: My Highschool Project truck a 1969 GMC C20 (Old Blue)
Yeah its too cold to do anything! This sucks, I really want to work on it but I cant.
I dont mean to break any rules but what is this truck worth? I'm not trying to sell it but a kid in my shop class asked me and I had no idea what to tell him.

Re: My Highschool Project truck a 1969 GMC C20 (Old Blue)
The donor cab used to have some house speakers that where mounted on the trans hump. The whole front clip and frame is smashed so I'll have to check out the front suspention on it but I've been thinking about that all along.

Re: My Highschool Project truck a 1969 GMC C20 (Old Blue)
my dad said to check the straightness on the donor cab if the front end got smashed the cab might be twisted a little so see if u can verify its straightness my 86 got twisted somehow so my floor panels and rockers on drivers side seemed to float in some places leaving up to half inch gaps we had to bend them to shape looked horrible. we coulda straighten cab but i was impatient..

Re: My Highschool Project truck a 1969 GMC C20 (Old Blue)
Yeah your build thread is great man. You post good pics too. Lol it's a lot better than mine. Anything I've done isn't picture worthy.
Hopfully today I can get my oil changed and check out the tranny fluid. I need to put a new starter in too and the other day my fuel float got stuck at about 7/8 so now I have no idea how much gas I have Anyone know how to fix that without taking the tank out? Maybe next weekend I can put a new driveshaft bearing in.

Re: My Highschool Project truck a 1969 GMC C20 (Old Blue)
to pull sending unit you shouldnt have to pul the tank? unless its relocated or something?!?!
I feel honored that you think im doing something pic worthy in my build! Im getting tired of blasting. so im spending the day watching musclecar/trucks and on here. well now im bored so im going to the shop to start a fire and put my new bushigns in my trailing arms lol YOU HAVE A WOOD BED? Thats awesome dude. I wish I had one, but it wouldnt be practical for me (i use my truck as a truck). I think there really cool!

Re: My Highschool Project truck a 1969 GMC C20 (Old Blue)
I get that all the time about my wood bed, actually you'd be surprised at what they put up with. I use my truck as a truck too lol I work construction with my dad so it gets beat frequently. I like it because when you beat it the paint doesnt chip and get rusty lol.
