Your seat belt shoulder mount looks good. Would you mind posting some better pictures of it? I was reading yossarian19's thread and came across this discussion. My biggest concern mounting in this area was the cab folding in on me if I crashed. Was headed towards some sort of structural solution that tied it all back to the floor. Probably over thinking it. not to be too grim but when I was thinking the same way, what I realized was that if my collarbone exerted enough force on the seatbelt to collapse the B pillar (or pull an anchor through the floor), I'd be dead anyway.

Rich that is a very impressive build you have going. I like the battery relocation and the color is fantastic. The truck really looks great! I'm almost done with my Dodge frame and should be getting ready to fit the cab, though I still have some sheet metal repairs to do. I may borrow the battery relocation from you.

Was the fuel filler door a prefab unit or something you built? I'm looking at doing something similar with mine, and was going to steal the door off an F-150 bed I'm using for a trailer, but the one you used looks really clean.

Keep up the good work. I'll be passing through your neck of the woods early next month. Maybe I'll see you out and about in your creation.

Joe if I remember I got the fuel door asm from Tanks inc. They are a little over 100 $but they come with everything. To put gas in the tank you don't remove the gas cap. It is like some of the newer design caps. and it is a prefab unit easy to install. I didn't want the filler in the bed . I know I would spill gas on the new wood. I got a couple fuel doors from the wrecking yard but they were way to big. Thanks for the compliments. Glad to help. Rich

Made my headliner and used Masonite as backing. Made brackets from 1/8 plastic and made spacer from the same. The brackets will slide between the bottom lip of the roof and top of the cab, No other clamps was needed. I made the front brackets 1/2 longer in the front than what the back brackets are. When installing I started the front and left side and once it started pushed it forward until the back would go up in to the back lip, once it was in I pushed the hole headliner back to center it and cover the cab lip.
Made the door panels from Masonite also. Got lazy and just used finishing washers and screws, Made a pocket on the drivers side to hold my CD and on the pas side just made one big pocket . Still have to make some kick panels for speakers. Rich

my headliner was too thick to get the rubber in too.
i found some black door edge trim that worked well to finish up the edge of the opening.

i rolled a 58 small window back in my youth, experience tells me the roof is held up by the glass
not sure i'd want to be sitting up in a big window in a crash, that curly A pillar only holds the rubber in, not much else...

I suppose Ralph Nader was just getting out of high school in '58. He hadn't done any damage yet.

Bob thanks for the compliments , It has been fun most of the time. I am a year older now and a little slower.
Ogre the only true fix would be a full roll cage. It could be done pretty easy if a person had a tubing bender. Rich

Backing for the kick panels is 1/2 partical board. The speakers did clear with a little work.
Made the arm rest from 1/2 oak I had left from my bed. glued the high den foam to 1/2 partical board covered them with material then screwed them to the oak arm rest
Also made some wood inserts to match the dash.
Which do you like best ? with the wood insert or painted grey? Rich

I took the truck out on the highway for a cruse just to check it out . At 75 mph it was cool no vibration, no problems at all . At 75 mph the tach was reading 2800 rpm.
I check my gas millage and I am getting just over 11 mpg . Most of that is around town. with a little horseing around. I think I will go with the wood insert in the door panels at least for a while. Rich

Hello Rich. Glad to hear that Old Yeller is back and looking better than ever. I like what you did with the door panels. I think the wood panels should stay. Like you implied you can change them out later.
Glad to hear that you could do highway speeds with no vibes or problems. I haven't got there yet. I'm thinking it's the front sheetmetal vibrating up front because I haven't got my latches to the cab yet installed. Love those Crager's.

Rich both door panels look fantastic. As far as which one, I think I agree with Kim on this one, the gray adds more contrast. Either way though It is a very good look. I am almost done fabbing up my Dodge to Chevy cab mounts. Things are tacked in place, I just need to make a template to double check teh fit before I finish weld everything.
