Re: Where did your love of 67-72's come from?
I knew a guy who had a black on black Cheyenne Super short bed when I was in high school, it had a tonneau cover on it, all the factory trim and it had "Western Bullit" rims on all four corners, Didn't matter how much you bugged that guy, he wouldn't sell....six years later, I found that same truck, now painted white, inside and out....made me sick to my stomach. Any way's, mine is almost complete, and almost exactly like his was, only better in my opinion. Now, if only I could find a "mint" set of Western Bullit wheels" I'd be "spot on" with my efforts!

I grew up in Texas where trucks were always on the road.

Re: Where did your love of 67-72's come from?
Might as well jump in on the conversation here...
Around 1978 to 1980, I had little money, no license and wanted a vehicle. A friend bought a '72 C10 long bed to move from Long Island to Poughkeepsie to attend the Culinary Institute. We were talking and he asked if I wanted the truck for $400.00, I knew he paid $600. or more. I said yes and after he moved, I took the train up to Poughkeepsie and went back to the farm and learned how to drive a 4 speed. After killing the battery learning the standard transmission, I drove the truck home drove it too and from work for about a year, smashed it up in a snow storm and sold it for $200.00. I always loved that truck, and had lots of fun driving it. Swore I would get another one some day... Fast forward 25 to 30 years, occasionally searching for one, I found one. With lots of prompting from my new neighbor, I bought it. Now, I want to take it out for a drive, see ya! Bill Through the years, I owned about 50 different vehicles, trucks, cars and motorcycles. I may have the list around of what vehicles I have owned.

Re: Where did your love of 67-72's come from?
Grandpa had a 72 K20 converted to a 1 ton for farm use (and abuse!). Best friend in High School's dad had a 66 K20 with a 383 and Bulldog trans as a daily driver. Another close family friend has a 66 Impala. I loved all these vehicles, the bright paint, the sound, the lines....and I love having one to drive every day. I love mine because people come up to me all the time and tell me a story about their dad or grandpa or "when i was kid..." It's fun to see people have fond memories of these classic trucks.
