heck yeah, don't stop now! that little lady is turning out seeeexxxy.

i enjoy the build as much or more than the driving/use. some bits more than others. like paint, HARD pass there's a reason my truck will launch as a patina ride. if i ever decide i want it pretty like yours i'll have to pay someone

Re: The Vandal. 1957 "Big glass" 3100 restomod.

I found a little motivation. Made a bracket for the Dakota Digital boxes and some relays. Don't know yet what I need relays for, but they're there if I need them.

Installed and wired.

Got the dash stuff all wired up. I'm going to install the wiper switch in the hole left of the gauges. The cable wasn't long enough, so I will have to extend it.

Like the bracket and look of everything. I am only ib the beginning of my 57 Big Back Window build but yours has plenty of ideas. Look forward to the rest of the build. Steve

Re: The Vandal. 1957 "Big glass" 3100 restomod.

BigGlass weekend update: Let's build a PCM/TCM bracket.

Starting with sheet steel.

Bead rolled, and bent.

PCM mounts to one side.

TCM mounts on the other side.

Mounted on the inner fender.

I decided to pull the inner fender and weld on another mounting tab on the bottom edge.

Powder coated and installed.

Looks like a decent location for the PCM. Will keep in mind when I am to that point. Looking good. Steve

Re: The Vandal. 1957 "Big glass" 3100 restomod.

I found some garage therapy time this week.
I blasted and sprayed the exhaust manifolds with Cerakote. I was hoping for gloss, a little disappointed, but the still look good.

I got the engine harness sorted out. Everything is laid out, hot wires extended for a relay box.

Made a bracket for the relay box

Where it's going to get installed:

Back to wiring..

Re: The Vandal. 1957 "Big glass" 3100 restomod.

Manifolds look good. I get concerned on how long before it burns off. I also like your electronics mounting spot. That is the side my pcm/relays will go. Steve

Re: The Vandal. 1957 "Big glass" 3100 restomod.

Thats where GM put them, so I'm did the same. I know a lot of guys try to put them in the cab, but I wasn't interested in pulling bundles of wire through the firewall. Sooner or later I have to decide what wires to pull through the firewall and start drilling.

Looking good. I see you are using shrink bands in place of hose clamps. I love those. If you wipe them with lacquer thinner the part #'s that are printed on them come right off. Maybe I'm too anal, but I always do that to mine.

Yep, just haven't gotten to that yet.

Re: The Vandal. 1957 "Big glass" 3100 restomod.

Heavily modified the bed floor cross rail to go around the rear wheels.

Test fitting the bedsides.
