Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Fast forward to Sunday... err, should I say Spaghetti Sunday...
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr
I started on the Wiring... so far I have the fuse box mounted, the Dimmer switch and dome light completed, the distributor and water temp sender wired, and the wires out to the headlights, back to the taillights, and up to the Gauge cluster...

My wife snapped a couple of pics while I sorted through the spaghetti...

Looking good Don . Don't forget to feed the wires through a grommet in the bulkhead , before you connect them all up .

Looks great so far Don.

Like the photos Saless took of you.

You look very happy there.

As Martin said, do remember the grommet.

It's the kind of forgetting I would do.

You have gone a long way forward now.

Thankx Guyz... There will definitely be grommets... The rains over the past couple of weeks have deterred my pool opening, so tonight and tomorrow will be focused on getting the pool up and running... then it's spaghetti time again...

Had to work today, got home and had to finish up some work on opening the pool... Sadly, no truck time today, but there are plans for a few evenings this week...

...and more this morning...
When I purchased this truck 4 years ago, it had this fuel tank mounted in the back... I pulled it, and as the story goes, swapped frames...blah, blah, blah, and decided to re-install tank... dummy me decides to start chopping new frame to match the cuts in the bent frame...WITHOUT trying a test fit...
get the piece cut out of the rear crossmember and jack up tank into place...
plenty of room, even with crossmember intact...
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

...so today I have a day off, weather forecast to be brutally hot
plan is, wake up early, cuz I'm old and wake up early no matter what...
and JoJo has his morning walk routine... push truck around driveway and back it into the tent to facilitate welding... weld, grind, paint before it's too hot to wanna be out there... Woke up at 0530, no alarm needed, walked dog, caffeinated myself and looked at temperature, already 80F... accomplished the above, as well as one small honey-do, all by 1000...temp now 87F with a heat index of 99F...

On to the pics...
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

No pic of finished product as the paint is taking forever to dry thanks to humidity levels being sky high... except for this one which was a Front End Friday pic I posted on the forum group on fb...
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

Gotta get cleaned up, drive my beautiful wife to see her daughter, thank the good Lord for A/C as the heat index is supposed to hover between 110 & 115F today, then later the plan is to work on the wiring harness a bit...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

good work Don. beating the heat this year has been a problem but the seven day forecast has cooler weather ahead, maybe even a shower.

did you get the wiring close to completion? i don't have a taste for spaghetti but sure admire someone who does. fortunately for me Pete loves the stuff.

you are right about that old guy-get up early thing… I do the same.
