Been a crazy couple of weeks, other than the pool finally up and running, truck time has been limited... I did get the hood delivered for the '60 model... Pics on that thread...

Met another truck owner, This one a '64 Sleeper... Sporting' a nice sounding 383... Unfortunately I only had time for these two pics, work was crazy that day... I did point him in this direction...

...and more this morning...
When I purchased this truck 4 years ago, it had this fuel tank mounted in the back... I pulled it, and as the story goes, swapped frames...blah, blah, blah, and decided to re-install tank... dummy me decides to start chopping new frame to match the cuts in the bent frame...WITHOUT trying a test fit...
get the piece cut out of the rear crossmember and jack up tank into place...
plenty of room, even with crossmember intact...

...so today I have a day off, weather forecast to be brutally hot
plan is, wake up early, cuz I'm old and wake up early no matter what...
and JoJo has his morning walk routine... push truck around driveway and back it into the tent to facilitate welding... weld, grind, paint before it's too hot to wanna be out there... Woke up at 0530, no alarm needed, walked dog, caffeinated myself and looked at temperature, already 80F... accomplished the above, as well as one small honey-do, all by 1000...temp now 87F with a heat index of 99F...

On to the pics...

No pic of finished product as the paint is taking forever to dry thanks to humidity levels being sky high... except for this one which was a Front End Friday pic I posted on the forum group on fb...

Gotta get cleaned up, drive my beautiful wife to see her daughter, thank the good Lord for A/C as the heat index is supposed to hover between 110 & 115F today, then later the plan is to work on the wiring harness a bit...

I talked to that guy the day I was there, didn't catch his name and forgot to ask if he was a member here.
I love his grille!

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

good work Don. beating the heat this year has been a problem but the seven day forecast has cooler weather ahead, maybe even a shower.

did you get the wiring close to completion? i don't have a taste for spaghetti but sure admire someone who does. fortunately for me Pete loves the stuff.

you are right about that old guy-get up early thing… I do the same.
