Awesome truck for the price!!!!! Check it out...
Does anyone recongnize this truck....I see he STOLE my idea of a 7 foot bed....that's what I'm doing to mine. But you'd think he would be looking for more money for what this truck looks like. 11 grand?!?!?!

Personally, I think it's a lil high, JMHO, if it had A/C it would help, and is
a 7ft bed rare? doesn't sound right, wish they had pic's of the glovebox.

personally I don't believe the man where he says factory 7 foot bed. However I can see the beauty of the custom mod I am working on myself. Is A/C all that important?

I like how he tries to play off that the bed is a factory option. The only reason that it is rare is because he hand made it.

More proof for the following 2 items from Boz-All's Rules Of the Universe:
1. There is nothing new under the sun 2. If you build it, they may not come. Interesting truck, even better line of ![]()

I received a reply from the guy...here's what he said.
please do some research because this truck with a 7ft bed is referred to a > Shortbed Longhorn or Longhorn Shortbed... I have seen one other before... > > > Steve > > steve@usaclassiccars.com Here's my reply I belong to one of the biggest messageboards on the internet devoted to 67-72 Chevy trucks. Not one of the thousands of members there has heard of your 7 foot bed. You need to do some research and get your facts straight before advertising something as "factory". BTW the members of the board have seen your ad and have gotten a good laugh. Thanks PS if you would like to learn about GM trucks come on over www.67-72chevytrucks.com Whaddaya think, will he join the party? ![]()

Query about the shorty longhorn or whatever he calls it. I asked him about the 7 ft bed and this is his reply.............
do some research and you will see that they made very few 7 foot bed trucks; I think they called them shortbed longhorns or longhorn shortbeds, one or the other.... the actual wheelbase is shorter than a longbed and longer than a shortbed.

I just can't see GM re-tooling for a special length bed and frame, only to offer them in,apparently, very small numbers.
I dont know for sure but I believe the Longhorns used a bolt in extension in the front of the bed and the frame was used on other production vehicles as well. (rambling) My point is that, although relatively rare, Longhorns were produced in large numbers, yet they did not receive longhorn specific parts other than easily produced badging and the bed filler. This guy would have you believe that GM tooled up for this truck, and only produced a hand full. ![]() What I can see, is somebody not realizing how much and where to cut the frame to make a SWB, then havng to mod a long box to fit his f@#$ up. ![]() Whatever ![]() Last edited by screamin_c102; 05-20-2005 at 08:50 PM. |

My restoration packages fail to mention a 7 foot bed option. Maybe Chevy pooched it... right.

Actualy I know hoe he did it. Because I'm doing the same to mine. All you need is a standard short bed truck.....cut the rear half off directly in the center of the wheel well and add in the long bed section. Everything lines up just right. I'm only doing it because I think the long beds were too long and the short beds were too short. I want this to be for me and not to lie to people and say "yeah....Chevy did this rare 7 foot bed and I have one"....I don't ever plan to sell it either.
