Hi, From the small town of Boring, Oregon
Yes, that is a REAL name of a REAL town here in Oregon. I'm about a half hour away from Portland.
My name's Shane, am 20yrs old, and after 2 years of saving up money from mowing lawns and doing yardwork for neighbors, I bought my truck at age 16. My truck is a '71 Chevy 2wd SNB. Started out life with a 350, granny 4spd, 12bolt w/ 373 posi(not there anymore). I know this is probably said all the time, but my truck was a real farm truck back in the day. Bought her with a 305sb and the 4spd, blew up the 305, put in a 400sb, and now I'm almost done rebuilding the now 406 small block...hence my screen name. When I bought it, it was slammed with a top of the line suspension system....."way-too-cut" coils up front with 2x4 wood on top of the spring; the rear was also "way-too-cut" coils with about 3 of those screw in spacers on it. Now rides on 2" early classics up front, stock rears....GOSH, I sure wish it was slammed properly. I've probably dumped about 6k into her, and she's still, what I call, a POS Beast. I'm also putting in a TH350 w/ B&M transpak and Starshifter. I got too sick and tired of adjusting the clutch linkage, making new parts, modifying the old part, making the clutch work.......I blame myself because I "had" to have headers. Exhaust is 2.5" Flowmaster Super 40s, exiting through 3.5" slant cut tips in front of the rear axle. I'll probably be pretty active here, as I'm very active in the Ford Ranger forums, which I also have a 2001 Ranger. Here's some pics. 1 week after I bought her, and $600 later in parts. The 406 small block....can you say "sleeper" LED tails in homemade brackets. I wish it were still this low! High School Car Show; '71, '71, '69, '70. Re: Hi, From the small town of Boring, Oregon
Thanks everyone for the compliments.
johnny....i too love the color of your truck. The 3 other trucks are all my friends, I'm helped prep and paint both the blue and red ones....also made clutch linkages for both also.....they too have headers. I almost bought the blue one....before my friend bought it, glad i held out for a 2wd shorty.
