Downshift cable adjust
What's the proper way to adjust my downshift cable on my 86 with a TH350? Since I've put my Holley on it won't downshift at full throttle.

Re: Downshift cable adjust
won't down shift?? or up shift???? if it doesn't down shift you need to push the the button down and open the throttle all the way (with the engine shut off) and if you do that and there is still slack in the cable...you need to push the button and push the cable back in by hand and repeat the process again

Re: Downshift cable adjust
There's no button...just a screw on stop in front of the throttle lever on the carb. It's a TH350, so it's not a TV cable like on TH400's or TH700's. This cable only controls downshifts.

Re: Downshift cable adjust
Can someone post or email me a pic of a factory cable for a TH350 trans? I'm starting to think the transmission shop put on a universal aftermarket one instead of a OE unit.
