Re: another ?

You can shave the heads down on carriage bolts put them through the unused holes and paint them to match. It' not perfect but it's not bad.

Re: another ?

What i plan to do is fit some dumbo mirrors to where they cover the old holes... i have one mirror like you have and one's a tripod... grandad wanted the tripods, but it wouldnt fit in his garage with two of em so the passenger side had a mirror like the ones you have... it drives me crazy when you look at it straight on...

The bullet hole stickers are still on there and will be removed whenever i get around to redoing the whole truck and that could be forever.

Re: another ?

Just remember, any hole over 1/8th of an inch on body panels should have a small patch panel weled in .. Anythin smaller you can put a piece of brass behind the hold and weld around the hole till its filled, the weld wont stick to the brass.

Fiberglass may loosen and pop off.....doors flex when opened and closed/slammed....etc.....
I'm sure you could find someone to weld up the holes for ya.....cheap.

Re: another ?

Josh does have a point, sort of. You need a clean base for good fiberglass work and getting the area that needs the glass would be tough to get clean enough even on a good day. No matter which way you go, weld up or glass, paint it real good when your done. jim

Re: another ?

Ken, Just lock the wheel and punch it. I would assume it got the name "cookie" because the tire tracks are circular.

STI Cookies

Anyways, I have the oem sport mirrors and they are pretty worthless. The passenger side lacks concave glass so the picture you get out of it is quite narrow.

Re: another ?

A cookie is accomplished with an open differential, whereas a donut is accomplished with a posi or locker.

At least that's the way I always understood it to be. A donut has an outer and inner circle, much like the black tire prints from a vehicle spinning both rear tires. Whereas a cookie only has the outer circle, much like the single spinning tire from an open diff.
