i got a set of 2005 silverado seats with the flip down center for cheap from a friend at the junk yard. I am wondering if anyone has pictures of them installed or mounting advice on putting them into a 71 with a stock bench. thanks!!

Re: 99-05 bucket seats
I would show you mine, but not completely done yet. I just made some 2.5"x4" plates up and will weld them to the floor to made it stronger around eack bolt hole.. For fitment I just made a plywood template of the base and drilled holes. They fit pretty good. Going to have to shorten the steering column though.

Re: 99-05 bucket seats
There are some pic of my 2005 seats installed and the fabricated mounts under the cab. Is this what you are looking for?

Re: 99-05 bucket seats
yep, not too bad. Just make sure that you make some plates to go on the bottom of the cab.
I think I got some Grade 8 7/16" bolts to mount mine up. |

Re: 99-05 bucket seats
I think most people pull the cab tanks and put one under the bed for these seats... or you will be hugging the steering wheel.

Re: 99-05 bucket seats
i was thinking about doing this as well. I would also like to see more pics of this and what reinforcements would/should be adequate.
I have heard also that this year of seat leaves a little to be desired for legroom as the seat is a bit thick. I have been looking at new 09 seats and they seem a lot thinner, and i would just buy factory shoulder harness for a seatbelt to minimize extra work for seat reinforcment. any more info? |

Re: 99-05 bucket seats
The only warning I have to say is that if you are a tall person you might not have alot of head room. I'm 5'8 and fit perfectly, but feel like I'm sitting tall inside.
