Exclamation has anyone made the lsx compressor work in a swap?

i am about to start my 6.0 lq9 swap and i have to have air!!!

i have been reading up but i have not found any info on the ac compressor. i plad to do the "fred mod" on the engine stand if needed.

so how have you made teh ac work?

I really do not want to relocate the compressor if i do not have to.

You can do it but you have to notch and reinforce the frame. If you are a welder/fabricator this is perfect for you, but most people seem to relocate it.

You do not have to notch or re-inforce anything. The stock compressor fits perfect. You just have to get A/C lines made to clear the frame. I know it's hard to see in this pic but it Works perfect.

Factory truck manifolds. I will need to notch the frame about 1/16 inch to clear the frame on the pass. side.

Re: has anyone made the lsx compressor work in a swap?

Check my build thread after this weekend. I will be finishing mine up starting Saturday. Using the Docs Blocks in the above link, the 5.3's original compressor, and everything else will be the original 85's parts (although they will be replaced with new stuff). As stated, no notching or anything like that will be needed with the Docs Blocks extensions.

68shortstep uses these in all of the 67-72 LS swaps he has done. For the most part, that swap is pretty much the same as a 73-87/91 swap.
