To line or not to line- need some opinions

I put down aluminum bleacher seating planks in the bed. I was originally planning on having it Line-Xed or Rhino lined but not in any hurry as I still have to finish fabbing a rear end piece. What do you guys think? Leave it raw or not?

Great idea. What is the thickness of that bleacher pank?

That looks really cool the way it is. I would leave it alone unless you need the function of having a protective coating. The overall truck looks pretty killer too.

If it was my bed, and I wish it was, I'd leave it as is for sure.

Re: To line or not to line- need some opinions

I like that

I agree with leaving it as is. If you needed to freshen it up, you could acid wash it, but that may stain your primer.

I am also curious as to the thickness and what mods you may have done to accomodate the planks. I am familar with the aluminum planking on semi trailers, but I had not thought of bleachers. The semi trailer planking is about 1-1.25" thick.

If you were going to actually paint the truck and not just a suede job then I would and I would have it color matched to your paint.

That was a great idea!! Looks good just the way it is. If your thinking of a little bling and the budget allows maybe have it anodized.

Here is just one supplier, about $27 for 1x6 by 7 foot less shipping. Load capacity is included in the description. You should be able to line up the clips to hold it to your crossbucks at any of the factory holes in the crossbucks.

Re: To line or not to line- need some opinions

Thanks guys! The planks are 1.5" thick and about 9.5" wide. I built a square frame over the existing cross sills then used 18ga angle to attach the planks from underneath with
3/4" self-tappers. I will post up more build pics in the projects section later today.
