"As a side note the firewall for the 4x4 is different from the non 4x4".

Re: firewall for the 4x4 vers 2x2

there is no difference in the firewall, just all 4x4 cabs are high floor hump but a 4x2 with a big block is a high hump also. i put a 71 2wd cab on my 69 4x4, just had to cut the floor for the high hump. factory bucket seat cabs from 69-72 have the mounting plates for the buckets welded underneath. 71 cabs have the raised boss in the roof for the rear view mirror. if i remember correctly 67 and maybe 68 cabs have some differences behind the gas tank.

Also any 4 speed truck had the high hump. My 68 was a factory high hump but a 292 I6/4 speed

67 firewalls are unique as the recess for the motor in the middle is smaller overall due to no factory big block option. The modified the firewall in 68 to clear for a big block on the passenger side.

Correct. No difference. You've been misinformed. The K-model engines sit back tighter to the firewall is the difference in motor mount locations
