what frame?
Will a 73-87 frame work with a 67 -72 bod? What will have to be changed ?
What i have is a late 70s swb 4x4 frame will it work? thanks |

If your Building a 4X4 you can do it fairly easily. The differences between these two frames is where the kickup occurs on the 67-72 the kickup is behind the cab. On the 73-87 the kickup is under the cab. It will require you to either gut the floor to get a factory stock ride height or put a lift on the cab so it will clear the frame. I'm building a 67 2wd so I'm gutting the floor. So I'll get set the ride height by channeling the body over the frame. I hope I don't screw up and find out I have a 3 in deep bed.

I've done it. You will need a body lift to make it work. You will also need to shorten the frame a tad to keep the wheels in the center of the openings. PM me you email addy if you need more info.

Take the free frame, use the closed knuckle stuff...along with the disc brake stuff, and use the rest of the frame for scrap crush weight.
