My goal is to run 39.5" boggers on my '72 Blazer. I just dont know how much lift I will need to fit these monsters. I dont like the thought of cutting metal, but I will if that's what it takes. Would a 8" suspension and a 3" body fit them? If so, would it be tight?

8" and 3" body would clear easily. alexis on the board ran 40's with just an 8" lift but i doubt you could even touch a speed bump with that.

I would run no less than 11 inches if you want to run hard. I have 9 on my 38's and wish I had 11. No flexing for me. Boggers will take out a fender.

Running 8" lift springs you probably don't have any flex anyway, I don't think I would really wheel a rig in any hairy situations with more than 4-6" total of lift, anything more and your a little too tall, time to hack the fenders at that point.

Which tires? I'm assuming swampers. If the suspension is real flexible you could do some body contact even w/ 11" of lift. There was a company that sold fiberglass fenders that bulged out 3" and had a larger wheel opening that would help a lot. I think it was Hanneman or something like that.

i have 39s on just 8 inches and there is plenty of room. the springs flex just not to much. alot of the flex is from the frame in my truck. also my springs are new, so after they get more miles on them they might sag and change they situation. good luck

Yes, the tires I want to run are the SS Boggers. I do plan on wheelin my rig, but mostly on flat trails, creeks and mud. Not too many rocks where I live. So flex isnt that big of a deal.
The fiberglass fenders are a good idea, and maybe if I rip these stock ones to shreds I might consider those.
I figured the tires would "fit" with 11" but I was unsure of how well. Those 39.5's are 18" wide and I can just picture what those nasties would do to a fender if they got a hold of 'em. Thanks again guys, if it works it works, if doesnt, then time to cut some fenders...

I am running 38.5x15 boggers on 8" superlift springs. I hacked the fender because I was getting real caught up on them when I flexed up on the 85.

The amount of lift is directly related to how much trimming you want to do! There are guys on CK5 and Pirate4x4 running very little lift with huge tires. They don't have much fender left, but they have a lower center of gravity.

Yeah, I've seen guys running 4" lifts and 39's with NO fenders left. I dont know if I'm ready to hack that much, but I'm not opposed to trimming a little off the corners. I sure wish they had some decent looking aftermarket fender flares available for the 69-72's. And if they do, I havent seen any...

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
