Horn mounting
What is the stock location for the horn on a 68 1/2 ton? Also where does it get its power from?
Thanks

It goes on the driver's side of the core support, right above the voltage regulator. It's held on by a 5/16 size bolt.
There should be one wire breaking out of the harness that plugs onto the horn terminal. I can't remember the color of the wire right now though.

Think I found it
Think I got it. Its plugged into the bottom of the voltage regulator. Am I looking at the right wire? Its the only green one coming out of the headlight harness that I can see.

Tx Firefighter
Will do that tonight. Just curious as to why the previous owner plugged it into the voltage regulator. I dnt think it matters I have the voltage regulator bypassed and I am using a internally regulated alternator. Will let you know if it honks tonight.

the clicking is your horn relay under the dash isn't it?
1st, make sure your horn is well grounded. 2nd, disconnect horn wire and run a jumper wire from your battery positive to the wire terminal on the horn. It should honk. 3rd, adjust the horn a couple of times with a non marring hammer (mallet). Don't twist off on it, just give it a couple of little tune-ups. These steps will likely get you horny.

Make sure there is clean metal to metal contact between the horn and the core support. I use star washers under the bolt head. They dig through the paint and crud to get a good bite into the metal.

Forgot to answer that question. Yes the clicking is coming from the horn relay under the dash.

Got it working. Just need a good sanding on the spade that the power wire goes to and the area that it bolts down to.
