Exclamation Reading Vin Option Codes?????

Anybody know how to read the SERVICE PARTS IDENTIFICATION tag in the glovebox????? Trying to figureout what the gear ratio for the axles are in an 89 Chevy blazer????? Any info on how I can find out ???? Thank's

the rear axle codes start with g .ex. gu6 is 3.42 gt4 is 3.73 g80 is posi. let me know what it is and i can tell you,Erick

The rear axle code is a GU4.......

that should be a 3.08 ratio. Have the rears been changed? It might pay you to pull the cover and conform if you are going to sell them. There should be a 10-41 stamped on the ring gear this would be 4.11 . Just devide the 1st # into the 2nd # and it will give the ratio. Glad to help,Erick
