FS - 57 chevy pickup
Hey,
First off I just want to say that I am new to classic trucks, so forgive me if I don't explain something right or leave out some important info. The truck is a stepside with the big window in the rear. It has been stored in a basement, so there really isnt that much rust for its age. The floors feel solid, but I have yet to take the pad off to check for sure. I will do that this afternoon. I have noticed some rust on the back of the front fenders and in the corners of the steps on the bed as well. I have a few new parts to throw in. I believe it is a gastank, fender and part of the pass. fender. I will check that for sure also. My reason for selling, it isnt what I want. I do still want a truck, just a differant style. I don't know what years they were made or anything, but I want the one with the running boards (or whatever you'd like to call them) that run from the steps on the bed to the front of the doors. I just took delivery of this truck yesterday, so I havnt had much time to look over it. I am asking $2,000 for the truck and any parts that I have with it. I have seen MUCH worse condition trucks for $1,500, so I think this is fair. I am located about 40 miles north of Atlanta, Georgia. Please feel free to ask any questions or come check the truck out for yourself! Also I will get some pictures posted this afternoon. I know that is an important thing. Thanks! Chris |

Welcome Chris!
The kind of truck with the running boards running from fender to fender is a 55 first series or eariler (chevy) |

Thanks Denny, for both the warm welcome and the helpful info! Hopefully I can get this truck to a nice new home and get started on a 55 or earlier

Your welcome Chris.
Remember that in the middle of the 55 model year is when the body lines changed from the advanced design models (47-55) to the task force models (55-59).
Hence some of the 55s were the eariler body style which is known as the 55 first series and the later 55s were the later body style which is known as the 55 second series. Also the later advanced design models were changed to the 12 volt electrical system. I'm not exactly sure when this took place but I think it was 54. |

Werent the 54's windshield wipers controlled by air vacuum where as the later 55 first series had electric wipers (some, not all).
