Gettin to the fender Emblem..

I want to remove the fender emblem on my 68(/10) without having to take of the whole fender...can I just take out the fender well and reach in to unscrew it? I just want to take it off and clean it up, and put some nice red paint on the bowtie. And leave it off until I get the paint on. LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!

If you really wanna get it off your best bet would be to drop the fenderwell down. You should be able to get to fine then. You could just tape up the fender itsself around the emblem and clean it up without taking it off. Line the fender good with paper so you won't get any mess on it.

removing the cowl won't be enough..... you'll have to remove the bolts where the fender lip meets the inner fender, all the way to the bottom rear edge of the fender.... then loosen the ones at the core support and the large one where it bolts to the cab and you should be able to access the emblems...

if your talkin about the ones by the door to get em off you have to remove the fender well and i am able to get if off w/ the 235/70 15's still on. putting it back on is another story i had to loosen up the back portion of the quarter panel and have my dad pull out on while i stuck my hand up in there to start the new threads. besides taking the fender wells out is no big that is the 1st thing i do when i have to do any work in the engine bay b/c it gives you so much more room to move around.
