Power Steering Box

Well mines just a little leaky and I remember a family friend saying something about a kit to rebuild them. It just replaces the seals and small things. Not like there's a lot in a power steering box. Anywho, if anyone has info on this I'd appreciate it.

Thumbs up

You can pick the kit up at NAPA or your local GM dealer.

Is this a kit to rebuild the gearbox or just to replace seals ? Mine is worn out but not leaking, and would love to save a few bucks.

Thanks,
Bret

the seal kit comes with all the seals, o rings etc. If the box is warn, no point resealing it---find a replacement in a junk yard but check it for play and it turns smooth.
If you have a leak, check to see if it is the seal that goes to the steering column. That is the usual first one to leak---and you can buy just that one seal from most auto parts places---autozone, napa, etc. for around $6.
