Inner door bottoms

Has anyone replaced their inner door bottoms? How hard was it? I will need to replace mine soon and was wondering if anyone had any pointers.

Here's a door that I did. Only use as much of the patch as needed to fix the rusty area. Take your time, measure many times to ensure that your cuts are accurate, and weld in short beads. Don't over-heat the metal, or you will warp it!!

I welded it solid. It wasn't the correct way to do it, but it turned out almost perfect. One thing I forgot to mention, tack weld the bottom on, then install the door and MAKE SURE IT STILL CLOSES!!! Then, finish your welding.

to have it come out looking factory, you'd have to drill out the spot welds along the bottom of the door and gently pry the overlapping strip back so you could get the old door bottom flange out and the new one in....

then once you got the new door bottom lined up, bend the overlap back in position (maybe with a hammer and dolly), clamp it gently with some vise grips, and then do some plug welds where the old spot welds were...

sounds like a pain in the arse don't it?
