Proper way to remove my shackles?
Ok i got some lowering shackles do i have to remove the u bolts holding the spring to axle first or can i just unbolt the shackles? not really sure how much tension will be on it thats why im asking

You need to jack the truck up high enough to put jackstands under the frame, remove the wheels/tires, then lower the diff to remove all tension thats on the shackles. You do not have to remove any u-bolts although you will have to remove the lower shock bolts. Loosen the bolts and you will be able to tell there isnt any tension. The longer shackles will require you to cut/notch a support thats under the bed right above the shackle, so your gonna need a sawzall or something
Only thing to remember is DO NOT fully tighten the shackle bolts until the truck is back on the ground with wheels and tires and weight of the truck and then do not overtighten.

I think the proper torque on the shackles is something in the area of 35 lb ft? I'm a slacker and never use the torque wrench...
