question rear end ratio

does anyone know what rear end gear ratio typicaly is used on a 6 cylinder truck?

gears

typicly the 6 trucks had 342s or 373s. it is easy to check, by counting teath and dividing

mine had 411's from the factory , now a 373 much quieter when on the highway.

the 3.42 would be in later trucks, never stock in a 67 - 72.
3.73 is the norm in an inline truck.
You oughta think aboiut draining the diff anf refilling it. How old do you think that oil is? 20yrs...older?

i didnt see if this had been mentioned or not...but if the truck is a 67-72 3/4 ton, then it will have 4.56/4.57 gears standard.
