Muffler size/dimention
I need to change the whole exhaust system on my truck. right now I have glass packs. Can anybody tell me what is the size/dimention (lenght, width, etc) of mufflers for our trucks? Also the inlet and outlet locations, are they centered or offseted? Can you suggest any of board vendors?
Thaks ahead. P.S, now that I took your time, for stock engine, is there really difference between stock ram horns and headers? I am debating if I should change the whole thing. Thanks |

I just "installed" had put on Dynomax 17217 Ultra Flo Welded mufflers. 21/4 pipes, muff measures 14 on the shell 19 overall they are straight through design with an offset. They arent real noisy but do have a little bit to them.
http://www.dynomax.com/documents/ultrafloweld_specs.pdf I enquired on the board earlier about rams, the story seems to be that rams flow as good as headers with a lot less hassle. Any of the muffler shops that I enquired about exhaust at told me to keep the ramhorns.

I got my Flowmasters from Jegs. I use a offset in/offset out, 50 series, (3 chamber) stainless version. You can use 2 1/4 inch or 2 1/2 inch versions. $94.99 a piece. $5.00 MORE than the non-stainless ones.
