"Shock" Opinions
Since I've done the performance upgrades, the suspensions seems to be to soft and spongie ( rear coils). I assume the shocks are original as the truck has about 60,000 miles and new shocks wouldnt hurt anyway.
Has anyone got any suggestions on a good shock reolacement for our trucks?

i used monroe gas magnumes (sorry can't spell for crap!) all around on my 72 gmc long bed. i have used these shocks before and they are heavy duty. ride is tight. rear may be a little too tight if you don't use the truck for hauling for anything. might consider stepping the rear down to monroe matics. i had to order mine online. got them from http://www.shockwarehouse.com? i'll have to check on that one....saved 50% of what i could get them for retail.

I used to have Monroe Gas Magnums, but they were getting mushy, and I needed slightly longer shocks when I put the 2" Skyjacker Softride springs up front. I got KYB Gas-A-Justs and am very pleased with them - well damped, not too stiff, and affordable. I have since put them on the rear of the truck and on all four corners of our Grand Cherokee. Not to steal the thread but does anyone make an overload shock for a coil spring rear. The shocks with the springs on them.

I have KYB on mine.
The Monroe Magnums are good, too. I had them on my '76 Blazer. I'm sure you can get an overload type of shock, maybe an air shock, still. I had a set of airshocks on my '81 Impala wagon....with 5 kids.

hey i PU70 check the shock wharehouse link in the beginning of the post. i just looked on there for your 70 c-10 and they list some load leveler shocks for it!

KYBs are my favorite choice.
Summit sells them cheaper than anyone else and free shipping (8 dollar handling charge per order though, but it's still cheaper than paying shipping from some other place)

Sounds like KYB for my GMC. I usually go for the made in USA stuff, but price is a big factor.
