Carpet kit suggestions
Going to re-do my 86 GMC carpet, puting in APC bucket seats also, but what is the best brand quality carpet set?
I am looking at Trim Parts because they have the floor carpet and matching door bottom carpet, as well as matching mats. I know a while ago Swervin made a suggestion, but do not recall which brand he suggested. Thanks.

I'm going to be looking too, I just ripped out all my vinyl flooring and old moldy soaking wet insulation, but won't be putting any carpet in until I fix the leaks and re-paint the floor. I am hoping to find some full carpet that runs all the way back, and I need some sound insulation suggestions also, I hear dynamat it good, I plan on running it all the way up the back of the cab.

I can tell you one of the common places for a leak is above the firewall, just under the wiper area. If you remove the cowl and have someone spray a hose on that area you may find a leak and / or clogged drains. I sealed my area with 50 year outdoor silicone weather caulk, and also shine a drop light at night in that area and look for light coming in the interior area. Sounds like a lot, but easy to do. My 86 GMC is garaged, but can sit in a thunderstorm and is bone dry inside, not a drop. Good luck.

hmm, I had the cowl off once already trying to track down a leak and cleaned it out and everything, didn't think about checking the seal on it though, turned out to be the passenger side vent which is back to leaking again (easy fix).
I thought it could only be the windshield, so i'll check for leaks there in where they meet under the cowl. Thanks for the heads up!

I used the Trim Parts Carpet in my truck. It seemed to fit pretty well. My truck was a non A/C truck, and I used the extra carpet to cover the kick panels and door lowers as well.
I think Captkaos is an ACC dealer, if you want to go that way again.

Classic Industries sells ACC, they want a hundred bucks for the floor carpet, but they don't sell the kick panel pieces and lower door pieces. LMC sells carpet from somebody, and they have matching lower door panel and kick panel pieces for a decent price. I've been following this thread cause eventually im gonna do carpet.

Who makes molded carpet with all the holes cut in it? I'd rather spend a little extra and get molded carpet that I can just drop in rather than have to cut the holes in and all that.

The carpet I used from 1AAuto was molded but I needed to cut wholes out for the headlight dimmer and the front two seat brackets. If you cut from the back, it will turn out perfect. Mine did.
