Quickie
How long, bumper to bumper, is a 1970 GMC 1/2 ton 2WD shortbed fleetside? I know it's within an inch or two of a Mercedes E-Class (as is the wheelbase, both discovered from parking next to my dad's '97 E320 for the past year)...
I just need to know because I might be parking my truck in an RV spot while I'm at school and I want to know how much room would be left to park my roommate's compact pickup in there as well.

Onless you have a silly platform bumper, it'll be right around 188 1/2 inches.

Don't park next to that Merc...it will make your truck smell bad (like sauerkraut and bratworst) and pretty soon it will only want dealer installed parts at great expense to you and to the detriment of your wallet...LMAO! Only bad things can result from close proximity to expensive foreign vehicles.

Hey, when I asked the question, I was 400 miles away from my baby. :P
Of course, now I'm back. Hehe. Between that truck and my girlfriend, I don't know why I go on vacations, I'm just leaving my two favorite things... And I'll be honest...I like driving that Benz! *gasp* At least we've figured out just about every possible way to avoid having the dealer install anything, lol. FWIW, it was inherited. And for a car heavier and less aerodynamic than the Z28, with a mere 3.2L engine, that thing can still move...especially at high speed. On the way back, I glanced down and realized I was doing 98mph in a 65 zone...heh...nobody had even noticed that the speedo needle was creeping towards horizontal again, lol!
