Tri-Plus sold by GMC Paul's! Mine fit just like a GM original....you can't tell!

If you’re going for look only, Repo is fine. If you want strength go original

Buddy, I agree with 1970 CST on the gates. I have heard too many horror stories about warpage on the aftermarket ones when a little weight is set on it.

I do agree with you about the older repo gates, but the tri-plus(Goodmark) brand is a very good tailgate. I have seen the older style crease with one person on it. Three of us sat on a tri-plus(Goodmark) tailgate and had no problem at all. Check with the vendors on this board for a good tailgate.

I just bought this tailgate for $300. Yeah, it's a lot of money and I could have bought a repro. But this one is a solid original. I had a repro gate on my truck that was horrible. We used to load a lot of dirtbikes in and out of my truck and it didn't take long to fold it in. I think you should hold out for a good original if you plan on using the truck. I've seen some pretty good original gates go for $125-$175. Keep your eye on ebay.

I have a friend who stood on the center of his aftermarket tail gate and it kinked in the middle. My goodmark tailgate was sparyed with a in bed liner and now it wont close CORRECTLY. I had the company redo the whole gate and just lightly spray the bottom, and it still isn't correct. I have ovaled the trunion holes and it still kicks out at the bottom. GO OEM.

Goodmark tailgate
I'm having a problem getting mine to close at the top & latch. I talked with a guy who had a real sharp truck at the GoodGuys show in Charlotte and told him about trying to get my aftermarket tailgate to fit properly and he told me the problems that I am having are the same ones he had before he sucked it up and bought a original one. I can't uderstand how some people say that they have no problems with aftermarket parts and some have huge ones unless the original Chevy parts were not that consistant which just compounds the problem. But I don't belive that to be the case.
