Any trick to removing flywheel from a 292?
Or is it just like a 250 or small block? My son is trying to remove one and after removing bolts holding it to the crank he tells me it won't budge. I've done this several times on 402's, 350's and 250's and although its a tight fit on the crank, it's only the crank bolts holding it and they come off with very little effort.
Anyone done a 292 and can shed some insight? If it's not different than other engines then maybe I need to give it a good whack? Thanks

They come off the same way as all the others. No reverse threaded crank.

Okay, did more research. It appears that 292 cranks have "dowel pins" presumably to orientate and align the flywheel and nothing more. I suppose it's possible that these are rusted some making removal difficult. I'll PB blast them, just wanted some assurance that there is no "trick" or additional fasteners to remove other than the flywheel bolts.

If this engine is still in the vehicle and he is working on the floor on his back, I would leave at least one bolt threaded half way on just so he dosen't get hurt if and when it lets go.
