Whats a 76 worth?

76 shortbox 4x4 1/2 ton. 6 cyl, 3 speed manual, gear drive transfer case. Ran when parked in 95. Rusty! One good boxside. This will be for sale, but would like to get a ballpark value. Thanks. There is supposed to be a title also.

That one in specific won't be worth much... Its rusty beyond what I would consider salvagable, at least as far as the body goes, the 4x4 chassis may be worth a few hundred though... Probally get more money if you gutted the cab, scrapped the rusty body parts, and sold the rest on ebay as parts, and sold the 4x4 chassis to someone.

as far as im concerned i wouldnt pay more than $50-100 for that truck it is scrap metal . Ive had people pay me money to haul vehicles off their land in better shape than that. 1995 is almost ten years ago i wouldnt count on that motor running well if at all anymore particularly after the cold winters and not being stored in a decent environment.
that truck is in worse shape than the one i started rehabbing and frankly im sorry i did it was too much work and too much money
but being its green and red its kinda festive for the holiday season!!!

Part it out. With a truck that rusty, parting it out is the only way you'll make any money off of it. Most folks aren't interested in a project that far gone. If that dashpad is in as good condition as it looks, I'll take it off your hands. There's a start.

Thanks for the input. I should have stated a value as a parts truck. I realize it is too far gone to restore. More or less, running gear is the only thing worth saving. The motor is not stuck, but is still a 6 cyl.
The dash pad is as nice as it looks, but is spoken for if i part out. I would rather sell complete as a parts truck.
Did most of these trucks in this year come with a gear drive trans case?
Thanks again for your help, these trucks are a little to new for me!

Alright, consider me second in line, if things change. it's not very often you come across a green dash pad in decent condition.

Wow Eric, I don't think I have seen a 73+ that rusty before.

The truck is worth more parted out IMO than whole. I bet you could get 2-300 alone for the bedside if you pulled it and put it on E-bay...if in fact it is as nice as you say it it and it looks in the picture. What is easy about that is you only have to drill out one spot weld, the rest is bolted (or maybe in your case, rusted) together. If you pulled the body, you could probabally get maybe $500 for the rolling chassis with running gear. Then of course you have the dashpad, column, and other misc things which would put some more money in your pocket.

Short box trucks tend to bring more money than long box trucks, so you have a few things on your side here.

Too bad none of the trucks had delay wipers.

Talk to you later. By the way, have any pics of the other two trucks?

Jeff, no other pics yet, but not much left of them. They look better than the shortbox, but are plain jane. I think the short box would look good at your house! I will send you a PM later. Eric
